Lower cost than clinical analyzers
The basic sensing elements of our technology are silicon photonic waveguides. These are tiny optical wires that concentrate light, organized on a photonic chip. On top of these wires we print biomolecular receptors which are specific to a certain biomarker. An analyte-receptor interaction is directly sensed by the light propagating through the wire, without the need for signaling labels.
The Meep platform excells in versatility: if a lab test exists, we can port it to our minilab and allow patients to self-monitor. This ranges from bacteria to small molecules. Even more, a single test can be multimodal, detecting different analyte types simultaneously in the same sample.
The Meep platform comes with a smartphone application and a cloud backend. The app serves as a primary health interface for the user. Data is aggregated, communication with clinicians is made possible and context can be given. The cloud backend allows stakeholders such as clinics, insurers, researchers or pharma companies to tap into the data as well, if allowed by the user.
